Objectives of the Program

 Following the completion of this program, students should have:

  • Familiarity with the history, theory, and ethics of stem cell investigation
  • Presentation and communication skills
  • Professional connections in the stem cell field

The Program Components are:

Year 1 Cal Poly Coursework or CIRM Activities
Fall Principles of Tissue Engineering, Principles of Stem Cell Biolgy, Stem Cell Seminar, & major-specific courses
Winter Cell Transplantation & Biotherapeutics, Stem Cell Seminar, & major-specific courses
Spring Introduction to Biomedical Imaging, Stem Cell Seminar, & major-specific courses
Summer Embryonic Stem Cell Training Course, Research Internship
Year 2  
Fall Research Internship
Winter Research Internship
Spring Stem Cell Project Course & major-specific courses
